DEFINITIONS For the purpose of these conditions, the following definitions shall apply: “Debit Card”. A loadable card that can be used while funds are available. “Cardholder”. The person that obtains or receives a Debit Card and whose name appears on the Debit Card, where applicable “The Issuer”, Girasol Payment Solutions B.V..
USING THE CARD The Girasol Debit Mastercard can be used to make purchases at any merchant online or in store, or make withdrawals at any ATM that accepts Mastercard cards. Debit Cards cannot be exchanged for cash or credit.
When making a purchase using the Debit Card, the Point of Sale terminal will request to validate the user via a PIN, signature or any other authentication method to complete the transaction. The Dollar or Caribbean Guilder amount of each purchase will be deducted from the remaining balance of the Debit Card.
Some merchants such as hotels, restaurants, car rental agencies, ride sharing platforms and gas stations may secure an authorization/approval on the Debit Card in excess of the estimated purchase amount to ensure that adequate funds are available to cover the final purchase. The entire amount of the authorization/approval may remain unavailable for up to 7 business days, although only the amount you actually authorize will be deducted from the remaining load value on the Debit Card.
Additional funds may be loaded to the Debit Card via online through Girasol Admin Portal or through any medium that The Issuer makes available for reloading of the Debit Card in the future or the associated account to it.
The Debit Card is for electronic use only, and transactions that exceed the remaining balance on the Debit Card will be declined. Nevertheless, if any purchases or service charges exceed the load value on the Debit Card, you shall remain fully responsible for the amount that exceeded the balance available on the Debit Card.
The Issuer also reserves the right to automatically debit such overdrafts as well as any over-limit fees as disclosed from future transfers of funds to the Debit Card, or any other account you maintain at The Issuer and/or its subsidiaries.
BALANCE INQUIRIES To check the available balance on the Girasol Debit Mastercard, can be checked at any ATM where Mastercard is accepted or via any Issuer interface- app or web.
LOAD LIMITS Load limits From each Account Girasol Debit Mastercard are subjected to each cardholder balance and any additional security rules or compliance requirements established by The Issuer.
SECURITY PIN The Personal Identification Number (PIN) that the Cardholder generates with its Girasol Debit Mastercard is strictly confidential and shall be non-transferable. In combination with the card, it shall constitute proof of identity when making a purchase at a point-of-sale terminal or making a cash withdrawal through ATM machines.
The Cardholder shall be responsible for the proper use of the Debit Card and PIN code. The Cardholder agrees to take good care of the Debit Card and to always store the PIN code separately from the Debit Card or to destroy the PIN code as soon as it has been memorized.
The Cardholder shall not disclose the PIN code to third parties and, insofar as the Cardholder should record it in writing, the Cardholder shall not in any case make any note to such effect on the Debit Card. The Issuer recommends destroying the PIN code form after having memorized it.
CANCELLATION OF THE CARD The Issuer shall reserve the right to disqualify, even without notice, the Cardholder from using the Debit Card.
The Cardholder may cancel the Debit Card at any time and request for a refund. A Refund Fee will be deducted for providing this service.
FEES The associated fees with Girasol Debit Mastercard are determined by The Issuer and might be adjusted or changed at any given point in time.
LIABILITY The Issuer accepts no liability to complete any transaction for which adequate funds have not been supplied by you according to the rules of the Debit Card accept no responsibility for funding delays that are the result of late receipt of funding payments by you to the Debit Card account. The Issuer is not responsible if you do not have enough money on the Debit Card account to complete a particular transaction. You may, however, split the purchases between the Debit Card and a cash payment. The Issuer or business will be liable to you for failure to accept or honor the Debit Card.
SETTLING DISPUTES In case of errors or disputes about transactions arising from the use of the Debit Card, call our customer service during business hours or visit us online and proceed with the claim. The Issuer must hear from you no later than 60 days after the date of the transaction in question.
The Issuer may require that you send the complaint or question in writing within 30 business days after having reported. It may take up to 45 calendar days to investigate your complaint or question.
Girasol Payment Solutions, including but not limited to The Issuer and its affiliates, employees, and agents, is not responsible for the services or merchandise purchased with the Debit Card or any damages resulting directly or indirectly from the use of the Debit Card. If you have a
problem with merchandise or services purchased with a Debit Card, that problem needs to be resolved with the merchant at whose establishment the transaction was made.
Exchange or return of merchandise purchased in whole or in part with the Debit Card will be governed by the procedures and policies of each merchant and applicable law. At the time of any exchange or return, you should present both the merchandise receipt and the Debit Card.
If you are entitled to a refund for any reason for goods or services obtained with the Debit Card, you agree to accept credits to your Debit Card account in place of cash.
STATEMENTS The statements will be provided by The Issuer cardholder portal or each designated channel.
NOTIFICATION OF LOST AND STOLEN CARD Please note that you are responsible for the use and handling of the Debit Card. Tell us AT ONCE if you believe the Debit Card or its PIN has been lost or stolen.
If you believe that the Debit Card or PIN has been lost or stolen, call us immediately. If you fail to notify us promptly or are negligent or act fraudulently in handling your card, you could lose all the money that you have on the card.
The Debit Card can be replaced if it is lost or stolen, with certain restrictions. You will be required to provide your name, the Debit Card number, and transaction history. The Issuer reserve the right to require any proof and conduct an investigation into the validity of any request. Transactions identified by us as being unauthorized will in principle not be charged against the Debit Card. The Issuer will charge a replacement fee for any lost/stolen Debit Cards, which will be deducted from the balance on the new Debit Card.
AMENDMENTS TO THE CONDITIONS At all times, the text of these General Conditions and any amendments which The Issuer may introduce shall be available for inspection online. The Cardholder shall be considered to have agreed to any amendments made by The Issuer, unless such Cardholder notifies The Issuer of any objections such person may have against the relevant amendments within four weeks after such person has been notified of the amendment. Consequently, the relevant Debit Card shall cease to be valid and shall be destroyed by the Cardholder.
DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION Disclosure of information about your Debit Card or transactions to third parties will only be made when it is necessary to complete a transaction, when it is required to comply with applicable law, court orders, or if you give permission to do so.
CARDHOLDER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT The Cardholder acknowledges that the Debit Card cannot be used when the remaining value is US$ 0.00 or less, or after it has expired, whichever comes first.
CHANGES OR AMENDMENTS This Cardholder Agreement is subject to change at any time at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to modify, amend, or update any terms or conditions without prior notice to you. Your continued use of the card after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. It is your responsibility to review this Agreement periodically for updates
